How the landscape of DJing has changed in these last 20 years. You can get music at the speed of your wifi, clicking a link on a computer screen and you don't even have to leave the comforts of your own home. I love it.
Still though, I remember my days carrying 2 tons of vinyl, getting my fingers dusty and coughing up a lung, searching for months in record stores just to
find that perfect beat. Best believe...I love that too.
So now I present to you this mixtape.
STILL NONSTOP - Original Live Part 2.
A nice little ode to an art form that is getting appreciated less and less in this day of mp3s, auto sync and cue points.
This is a mix that returns to something I loved doing and STILL love doing - collecting vinyl, finding original samples - the building blocks of my favorite hip hop songs, putting it back together with my own aesthetic, and performing it LIVE.
This was recorded in one shot - no cue buttons to push, no relative mode to stop the needle skips... and if it's not on wax, it's not on this tape. No Do overs ,like it used to be...
