Do ya'll know this #allvinyl spot? It's in St. Petersburg FL, and if you can believe it all the scenes shown here come from the same location. (they have 2). Rows and rows and stacks and stacks of records, audio equipment etc etc. Pretty amazing. Watch the store hours because this one is different then then the other location located close by (it's closed on certain days while the other is 7 days a week (I think don't quote me). This is of course... @bananas_records , the warehouse location. In one of the buildings for this spot, the 45s are actually alphabetized. In the other section - the actual warehouse - , we got the free for all, chaotic hoarder situation that some of us actually love because we're sick. If you not ready for your fingers to get dusty and to be highly uncomfortable covered in sweat, you might have to skip this area. Either way, this spot #bananarecords got something for every type of vinyl collector. See ya'll in the trenches. Most of ya'll know I was one of the founding membe Most of ya'll know I was one of the founding members of a #dj crew called the 5th platoon. Not all of us are in the first picture. Missing is @cousinvinnieroc and @kwonboysny aka do-boy. Of course shout out to our first lady DJ Kuttin Kandi. The first picture was used for our press pics when we were sponsored by @stanton_dj_. We were very early adoptors of #digitalvinyl via the product #finalscratch. This iteration of the squad included a young upstart named I.emerg. He won the @dmcdjchamps back to back in 2004/2005. He also won a buttload of other battles - guitarcenter, ITF, koolmixx, scion (yes the car company) and I can say with a fair amount of certainty that he won the MOST cash prizes of any #battledj ever. We did a calculation one year, and he came home with 60k all from winning dj battles. Not a showcase, not a party set. 60 from just whoopin peoples *sses. The 2nd picture was taken at the @wsidjbattle invitational scratch battle at @djxshowofficial in Atlantic city, which merge decided to join last minute a few weeks ago. Without letting merge know, us 3 founding members of the 5P decided to go down to Atlantic city and surprise him. The 4 of us in the second picture - djdaddydog, @djrolirho yours truly and @funeralballoons aka I.emerg haven't been in a room together in almost 20 years... And although I don't even live on the same hemisphere as these guys anymore,the universe figured out a way to bring us together, even if it was just for the briefest of moments. There was a time when we were thick as thieves. Merge used to live with me, and of course we did a solid 3-4 years of battling (he did most of the battling of course) and touring. But of course... Life happens... And a lot of life has happened in the last 20 years. But this short time together felt like the old days... Now, a little birdie told me that ya'll gonna be seeing a lot more of merge in the future, and lord knows I'm looking forward to that. Crossing my fingers that ya'll get to witness his greatness. Shout out to @djimmortal305 And the faderballistix, I.emerg's other squad who been holding him down from jump. #Throwbackthursday
One of the first things I did when I started comin One of the first things I did when I started coming to Japan was visit the @g_base_tokyo in odaiba. Just seeing a real life size robot was... Insane. Unfortunately August 31st will be it's last day based in odaiba. Unsure what the future holds for this real life mecha. It will a sad day for my fellow nerds. Last week I returned to Hawaii right when hurrican Last week I returned to Hawaii right when hurricane lala landed. As you see, my building got flooded, and even worse my building was one of the ones that lost power for multiple days.  During a power outage, I don't have running water - so can't go to the bathroom, no showers and probably worst of all... I gotta go down and up 27 flights of stairs.  Annnd because I had a flight to Japan, and to do this 27 floors with luggage in tow.  Still all in all, what I went thru was a MINOR inconvenience compared to many.  People loss their homes, their possessions, suffered injuries and there was at least one direct casualty.  And although that trip down the stairs sucked... All I got was sore arms.  Some people are still without power... Speaking of which...Gary Indiana has been without power for multiple days.  Please scroll thru the carousel. If you have ever come to Hawaii and enjoyed the land, the people who call this land home could use your help. One of the #reposts is from @hawaiimutualaid who has set up a fund to verified ohana and local businesses.
