“I was at this bar called Dreamland because I was stuck in New Mexico after my flight from the Bay Area was delayed. For some reason “Tootie” from the “Fact of Life” was there. I looked around, and they had turntables set up, I had my crate of records, my ‘originals’ set, and nothing but time on my hands… What is recorded here is what happened that night…”
1 and a half hours. Double CD. Original Samples blended seamlessly
with whoever sampled them. Original Live.
There are 2 “complaints” about the original series tapes that I’ve heard.
1st – I don’t play enough of the songs.
2nd – I use a 4 track to make the tapes.
This “live” CD is meant to kill 2 birds with one stone. I play the songs out a bit
more, and since its live, I flex my “DJ” skills to the fullest. No erasing my mistakes.
No going back. Recorded in one shot. Just Nonstop music. Proof in the pudding
that I’m not a “bedroom” DJ. You will hear some of the same songs that were on
the previous 2 tapes, but the order and the story told with the songs will be different.
As usual, I hope you enjoy this musical journey, and that you learn something
along the way. If you sit there while listening to this, and say to yourself –
“Man, he’s smoooth….” , then I accomplished my goal….
Peace to all the folk that have been supporting my projects and my squad the
5th Platoon over the last 8 years….
A complete LIVE mix , No do-overs, no over dubs, straight skills.
