Nightmare for a #vinyldj. Found this on the last d Nightmare for a #vinyldj. Found this on the last digging expedition w/ @djhuggybear and @djgolden_child at @360recordshop. A Jamaican 'bootleg' of the @memphisbleek classic 'is that your chick'. I was amped to find it in a stash of sleeveless records... But then I noticed it. A real crack in the record... Not a scratch, a crack. So, it was playable... But one false move and that record turns into bits and pieces. My #recordcollector folks... Is this salvagable? I thought about gluing it to another 45 to fortify it's structure for example... That seems to be the most sound solution to prevent further damage. Anyway... The perils of the wild. Keep digging ya'll. #djing #45s #7inch. OH.. And merry Xmas ya filthy animals.

From what I remember, when I was a youngster young From what I remember, when I was a youngster youngster - like before the 2nd grade - I used to make friends pretty easy... Until we learned that I was NOT good at sports,and I ended up getting glasses... and i also learned how to play the violin... Plus... I actually did well in school aka I was a nerd. So basically if there was a list of things that would make a kid unpopular in elementary school, I put a check mark next to every item on the list. Suffice to say, I know what it was like to... Just not fit in. This was something I worried about for @babylilisworld... And unfortunately because of the communication barrier (even though we live in Japan her first language is English) , my daughter has confessed to me that she spends a lot of time alone... Because she can't really talk to anyone, her Japanese is just not strong yet and she ends up just being embarrassed and shy... It kind of broke my heart to hear that. She's a little too young to be listening to the cure on repeat. Today tho after school, she said that someone in her class gave her a note to give me. It was written in Japanese and it said that she wanted Lili to come play with her at the park after school. She would be there at 3PM. So today, I got to see the little lady on he first real school play date :). They even let me join in the fun and let me jump rope with them later on... Although all I did was rope duty... They didn't give me a turn to jump. Dammit these kids swindled me! Anyway, today was pretty good :) #girldad #dadlife
I did a mixtape called nonstop about... 25 years a I did a mixtape called nonstop about... 25 years ago. (DAAAAMMN). All vinyl, recorded live, but all the vinyl were 12 inch. Ya'll know I'm on that #45 #7inch kick these days, so let's redo it with the latest weapons of choice. Did this in one take before I headed to the airport. Heading back to the states - Hawaii, NYC, Toronto, San Jose, and Sacramento.... Come hangout wit ya boy in the next 3 weeks. Also, tested out the #showasteel #45 adaptors by @kutfaster45. This is from his press release letter he sent to me - S45 7-inch adapter we've been working on. The S45 was born from a collaboration between BREAKWELL and SHOWA Steel, a Japanese precision metal company that's been around since 1937. We put a lot of love into this piece - carefully selected materials, mirror-like finishing, and a snug fit designed to pair perfectly with the TECHNICS SL-1200. Because it's precisely engineered to fit tightly on the spindle, it might take a little technique the first couple of times when attaching or removing it - but it should quickly feel natural and comfortable in your hands. It's all about giving DJs like you the control and stability needed to cut up 45s with confidence. I love cheap records. LOVE THEM. But they often du I love cheap records. LOVE THEM. But they often dusty as hell. Especially jamaican 45s. But even when they beat up they still play pretty dang good. It's amazing to be honest. However, a little bit of cleaning will always do ya vinyl good.  Now when I first saw this online, the particular poster had one of them headlines like."the only way to clean your records" type thing. And of course I was worried I'd mess up the record. But from personal experience, when a record is VERY dirty, using a magic eraser... works like magic. Literally. Doing a deep dive online, I've seen some cats put an electron microscope to their record to see how well the grit and the dirt gets removed. I DO NOT claim to be an expert in the field of record cleaning. I have been told and have seen a lot of videos that suggest an ultrasonic cleaner is the business. But, for those who do not have access to one or the funds to purchase... this might be the next best thing?!? For those that are wondering, I use @nagaoka_official producto often out here in japan, from their needles to their styles cleaners to their record cleaner kits.  They actually have a whooole system that I will one day do a post on that is pretty unique. But for this video I used the SPW01 clear tone water that is formulated to prevent residue when dried, the accompanying WCL111 Argentto brush, their CLV30 cleaning cloth, and the cherry on the top of the sundae - the Clear tone 558 record cleaning spray that really does give you that new record smell and anti static cleanliness.
