Since it’s inception in 2013 this series has been held in such notable cities as New York, Hong Kong, Toronto, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Austin, Portland, Seattle, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Manila.
We are ecstatic to be able to bring this unique pairing of aural and culinary artistry to San Jose, and we want to invite you to come enjoy what we have prepared. Little Wine Counter will be whipping up original dishes inspired by the mixes of DJ Neil Armstrong, while enjoying his latest offering, Extraordinary Pt.2, overhead. 2nd Track – Foie Gras Loco Moco. Little Wine Counter’s take on a classic dish. Our special deep fried risotto cake, burger patty, house made mushroom gravy topped with seared foie gras, fried quail eggs and a dash of Kambuja Trading Co’s Black Kampot Peppercorns.
3rd Track – Dessert Trio. A trio of our most popular desserts featuring our Apple bread pudding, chocolate ganache, and cheesecake made with powdered Kambuja Trading Co’s White Kampot Peppercorns.

It’s kinda fresh you listen to more than hip-hop…
10 years ago I dropped the mixtape ExtraOrdinary as part of the “all out king” mixtape series. What was on it? Groups like 10, stuff 000 Maniacs, The Doors, Nirvana, & Laura Branigan. Basically a lot of artists that fall outside the realm of urban music. At the time, the usual way of integrating “non hip hop” into the mix was the every popular “mashup”. But on this mix there was none of that. Regardless, it was mixed with a hip hop aesthetic, with the songs flowing into one another seamlessly.
The point of making it was to show that good music is good music. I was trying to get people out of their comfort zone, or maybe realize that the box that they were in musically could be a lot bigger if they were open to it. I’m sure when people heard it some were suprised and not interested. But others have told me that ExtraOrdinary was one of their favorites.
Part 2 is meant to carry on the tradition. Music that isn’t funk, but is funky in its own way. Songs that wouldn’t be considered soul but can still make you feel something. There are songs on here that you will know just because they are part of the pop stream of consciousness. Some of the songs are gems waiting for your eats to discover them.
They are all songs that will be out of the ordinary…

For those that do not know, Pow Wow is a meeting of great graphic artists , where they take there art form to the streets and beautify the landscape with their pieces. This time around, Pow wow is defending on Long Beach Ca.
They’ve extended the event to include a music division – the pow wow school of music.
I’ll be doing a little talk at the #powwowlongbeach school of music, so I figured we could take it a step further and do a special #dinnerandamixtape , joining the love of Music & Art with the love of good food.

Federal Bar is a gastropub, and for one night will be making some special “POW WOW” menu items for you to grub on. Menu for the night will be A La Carte.

Instead of doing the regular Opening party for the week long Pow Wow event, we wanted to do something different that would allow more communication and conversation.
The opening night event will give the public an opportunity to meet some of the artists that will be beautifying the city of Long Beach, while giving the artists a chance to get to know one another and have a meeting of the minds, while sharing great food by The Federal Bar.
DJ Neil Armstrong’s mixtape music will provide the soundtrack to the evening and a special performance
from the Pow! Wow! School of Music will end the evening.
All guests of the event will get a free download
of DJ Neil Armstrong’s complete library of mixes that will set the mood for the artists as they paint the Long Beach walls.
