Coming home from a long tour, I got the most distinctive treat to cross paths with Ma Dukes, Mrs Yancey, J-Dilla’s Mother…

I will be the first to admit, I AM NOT one of these SUPER Dilla Stans. But Real Recognize Real and Game Recognize game and I AM a fan… I know and appreciate the mans work and his legacy, kept alive by his mother and the music he left behind, and thru the J Dilla Foundation – http://www.jdillafoundation.org/.

I got to get a lot of goodies signed by Ma Dukes – The shining 12″ , THe Dilla Donuts Serato Pack and A shirt whos proceeds went toward the Foundation –

Asides from the vibes of chillin with Ma Dukes, it was a family affair of friends from all over – Rhettmatic, Amir from Kon and Amir, Mr. E from the Bay all stopped thru, and cant forget the fat beats homies Dj Eclipse and the Brown Bag All Star fam…

Unfortunately Maureen Ma Dukes Yancey, the mother of the late James J Dilla Yancey, is currently battling the same disease that took her son s life , Lupus… also a disease that took a very close friend of mine bonnie had suffered from.

If ya can and feel the need, please support the causes that are trying to find a cure… and keep enjoying JayDee’s beautiful music…
