I believe I made it back in 2001/2002 . It follows the theme of the first mixtape - going back and forth between hip hop songs and the sampled music they originated from. The theme of the mixtape wasn't anything new, but something like this hadn't been done by a member of the turntablist battle community.
Heavy on the scratching, all the original samples came off of real vinyl. These were the days before mp3's and broadband allowed everyone to have the same music, so making this mixtape required some real digging. Check the tracklist to see what you're getting....
2 Original... The sequel mix , the first one to utilize Protools to make it, which would be my weapon of choice until I found out what I could do with ableton.
Same deal as before. All vinyl, no bootlegs. At the time I was living with I.emerge, who would go on to win the DMC world’s back to back. I tend to be like a sponge when it comes to skills, so this was the peek of my scratching prowess, which I showcased on track 26 when I re-did the resurrection scratches (which were originally done by one of my DJ mentors Mista Sinista of the X-Men DJ Crew).
I believe this mix set me apart in a big way, and I found my niche audience.
Shouts: The 5P,the X,Triple Threat (vinroc hold it down),Beatjunkies,Turnstyles, old STA crew,Steelworkerz,Technicians,IF2, Fader Ballistix, Lo-Lives,Skratch Perverts,Allies,Kolabz,Complex,DJ Tommy,Bee and the Hong Kong crew,Cam 1,Boo,DP one, Crazy Charles,Sugarcuts, too many DJ's to mention!
