For my old school cats and "digital sound purists" (j/k!) who need this format for their cars and their old macbook pros. These are the VERY LAST BATCH of CD's in existence. A batch of deadstock that I found while preparing my crib for the temporary move to Japan. Once they gone folks... they gone forever.

The Sweeet Series was supposed to be a trilogy, with 3 mixes - each with a different name. You know them by now - Sweeet, Bittersweeet, and Smoove. Back in 2009 I decided to let the story continue on, with Sweeet Part 2 . I made this while I was still on tour with Mr. Carter in between tour runs. By this time it had been 3 years since I finished my last CD, and this one was a nice return to the work that got me started.

From the Liner Notes:

Long before backing up Jay-Z around the world I was known way more for making these really interesting thematic mixtapes, as opposed to being know for throwing up diamond roc hand signs.

The 2nd cd I made was one called Sweeet, dang near 10 years ago. It wasn't as planned as my other cds, but it became clear when it was done that is was about the sweeet goodness of love lif and soul.

The music on it felt good, like the sunshine.

Now although I've done some crazy things over the past year - performing at Madison Square Garden, hitting the stage in front of over 120,000 people at the glastonbury, and being on the world stage front and center as the man behind the 1's and 2's at President Obama's Inauguration, I've learned to my greatest pleasure that I'm the same cat I was 10 years ago.

Nothing's changed, because - I was who I was before I got here.

I'm this person, who listens to a lot of music, who loves the art of djing, and whose answer to Huey Lewis' (can't forget the news!) eternal question will always be an unequivocal "yes" - I do believe in love.

This cd is called Sweeet part 2, to keep pushing the feeling on. This is my 1st full cd in over 3 years, and I really missed making these things for ya'll. Sorry it took so long...

    Back in 2012, I celebrated the 10 year anniversary of the release of Sweeet. We had a big shindig at webster hall, Questlove Dj'ed with me as well as Jasmine Solano.

    Good times were had.

    One of the pieces of merch I did for the celebration were these Slipmats for my fellow DJ's. The artwork was done by the homie Bozack Morris, who captured the essence of the mixtape series perfectly. Done with collaboration with Acrylick out in Cali, I found a small batch of them in storage, and these are the last batch in existence.

    Originally 22 bucks a piece, they're going for a measly $9 beans + shipping.
