Started in 2013, Dinner & A Mixtape has been held in New York, Hong Kong, Toronto, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Manila, Philippines, among other places.

The idea is simple. Food and Music are similar art forms that go hand in hand. The ability to take sound and manipulate it into a beautiful song is very similar to how a chef takes ingredients and turns a plate of food into a work of art. DJ Neil Amstrong’s interest in both led him to create the concept of joining the two together into one event. Thus was born, Dinner & A Mixtape – a play on that classic American “date night”. Instead of Dinner and A Movie, you get dinner and great music.

The soundtrack is provided by a new installment in DJ Neil Armstrong’s mixtape library. Part eating experience, part listening session: the food nourishes the body, and music feeds the soul. Attendees also go home with a copy of DJ Neil Armstrong’s latest on cassette USB, giving diners the opportunity to bring part of the experience home with them.

Located by the picturesque Kallang River, Kilo serves Japanese- and Italian-inspired comfort food with a cosy, laid-back ambience to help you feel right at home. Meant for sharing, let our food and airy, open space take you away from the concerns of everyday life. Indulge, slow down, and take your time to catch up over a hearty meal, then join us in the Lounge on the 8th floor for some gourmet drinks to unwind.

For those that do not know, Pow Wow is a meeting of great graphic artists , where they take there art form to the streets and beautify the landscape with their pieces. This time around, Pow wow is defending on Long Beach Ca.

They’ve extended the event to include a music division – the pow wow school of music.

I’ll be doing a little talk at the #powwowlongbeach school of music, so I figured we could take it a step further and do a special #dinnerandamixtape , joining the love of Music & Art with the love of good food.

Federal Bar is a gastropub, and for one night will be making some special “POW WOW” menu items for you to grub on. Menu for the night will be A La Carte.

EVERY Person who attends will get a Free Download of my complete mixtape Library.

Instead of doing the regular Opening party for the week long Pow Wow event, we wanted to do something different that would allow more communication and conversation.

The opening night event will give the public an opportunity to meet some of the artists that will be beautifying the city of Long Beach, while giving the artists a chance to get to know one another and have a meeting of the minds, while sharing great food by The Federal Bar.

DJ Neil Armstrong’s mixtape music will provide the soundtrack to the evening and a special performance
from the Pow! Wow! School of Music will end the evening.

All guests of the event will get a free download
of DJ Neil Armstrong’s complete library of mixes that will set the mood for the artists as they paint the Long Beach walls.
